Baja California Sur
In a month Linda (pictured on the right) and I drove all the way to the point of Baja and back to Phoenix.  We saw so many different beaches and places, but by far the best was the beach pictured.  Our neighbors in this picture were from Australia, England and New Zealand.  Everyone at the beach was friendly and fun.  The palapas (palm shacks) were $5 a night (no running water) and they were next to the Sea of Cortez (as pictured).

Some of the same people at the beach lent us kayaks.  I love kayaking and the water was clear, if a little cold.  I also spent a lot of time snorkling and getting clams and scallops for our communal diners.  One of the best experiences I had was scuba diving with sea lions in La Paz.  They were very friendly and played like puppies.
Baja California Sur
Although we did spend a couple of days in Baja Norte, I liked Baja Sur better.  This is a picture along the road side of Caracara on Cordon cactus (a relative of the Saguaro).

More pelicans.  We were able to get pretty close to the Pelicans.  One of the most amazing things I saw while in Baja was the biolumenscent algae that glowed at night.  One night we even saw dolphins jumping in the lumenscence.
Baja California Norte
Along the roadside it looks like an alien landscape with the boojum trees.  The total length of Baja is approximately 1000 miles.  We didnt have any problems on the trip even when the roads were more potholes than road.
